Areas of Practice

  • Medical Thermography

    Thermography is a no contact, radiation-free, state-of-the-art screening procedure that uses heat detection to locate areas of temperature differences in the body. Most pathological processes demonstrate a form of increased heat, and some neurological processes show excessive cold or hypothermia. As an example, breast disease can be detected by looking for areas of excessive or increasing heat that may indicate areas of angiogenesis or increase of blood vessels supplied by a growing tumor.

    It is very important that you do not use any antiperspirant or deodorant before your scan. I recommend showering (at least 4 hours before your appointment) to make sure any product used the prior day or morning is removed.

Jacky Groenewegen, Certified Thermographic Technician and owner of Mindful Wellness Medical Thermography, established her lab in 2013. Combining her background as a licensed massage therapist, Jacky offers holistic solutions through thermography, massage, and regular communication via newsletter, blog, and Facebook. She's passionate about helping clients monitor and improve their health with thermography, which serves as a safe adjunctive screening tool for all ages, detecting concerns years ahead of traditional tests.

Jacky holds certifications in various fields including thermography, massage therapy, Healing Touch, aromatherapy, and guided imagery. Since 2005, she has operated a massage therapy practice and holistic wellness business, offering products like body brushes, guided imagery CDs, and essential oils.

Jacky actively promotes the benefits of thermography through speaking engagements and networking events in West Chester, Ohio.   • While I was having my thermography I mentioned to Jacky that my left breast is larger then the right and very painful with a couple of lumps and a bump still at an injury sight and biopsy 6-7 years ago. I have tried various breast massages but because they were intense they really aggravated my breast and made it worse. Jacky suggested my using just the method of pumping with my hand under my armpit but next to the breast to open the lymphatic system then very gently pulling the nipple, releasing and going deeper. She said I may have a clogged lymphatic system. I had also found a video just before my appointment for a very gentle breast massage and had started doing that a week before. When I incorporated Jacky’s suggestion along with the breast massage everything started changing for the better. I’ve been using the nipple pull for 2 1/2 weeks and it has made a big difference. There are days I have no pain or it’s just a discomfort. I do not have the intense pain anymore. My breast is still larger then the right but it has gone down a bit and I notice that when I do wear a bra. Comparing both breasts in the mirror I can see a bit of a reduction. I will continue using these methods and making changes in my diet and exercise. Thank you Jacky!
