 FAQs

  • Counseling sessions typically last approximately 50 minutes and are conducted by appointment only. Most clients opt for weekly or bi-weekly sessions to address their concerns effectively. Additionally, extended 80-minute sessions are available upon request for an extra fee.

  • We accept various forms of payment, including cash, check, Visa, and Mastercard. Please note that there is a $25 fee for returned checks.

  • No, Freedom Counseling Services operates on a private-pay basis only. We do not accept insurance directly. However, upon request, we can provide you with a superbill receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.

  • The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and preferences. Most clients find that coming once per week or once every two weeks is beneficial when working through an issue. Maintenance sessions, scheduled once every few weeks, are also available to help you stay on track with your progress.

  • Yes, confidentiality is a top priority in our counseling sessions. Your privacy and trust are highly valued, and all information shared during sessions is kept strictly confidential, in accordance with ethical guidelines and legal requirements.

  • We kindly request that cancellations be made at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible. Failure to provide adequate notice or a no-show will result in a $100 cancellation fee.

Kristin Wooten, LPC​C, is the compassionate Owner of Freedom Counseling Services, offering expertise in modalities like EMDR, CBT, Gottman, DARTT, Neurofeedback, and Brain Health Coaching. With a focus on creating a safe environment, she guides clients through their concerns with empathy. Kristin actively listens and provides tailored strategies to improve communication, relationships, self-esteem, and goal-setting. Her holistic approach, acknowledging the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit, specializes in trauma therapy with certifications in DARTT and EMDR. A Xavier University graduate, Kristin's extensive experience brings encouragement and hope to individuals seeking support and guidance on their journey to well-being at Freedom Counseling Services.
